The Toyota Matrix combines the style and spirit of a sports car and the functionality of a small sport utility vehicle with the affordability of a compact sedan.The Matrix is available in two front-wheel drive trim levels (Base and S) and one all-wheel drive trim level (S). The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine found in the Base trim produces 132 horsepower, while S trims are equipped with a 158-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Available transmissions include a five-speed manual, four-speed automatic and a five-speed automatic with manual shift control. Every Matrix is outfitted with a comprehensive group of standard safety features, including Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) with integrated traction control, anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, front side-impact airbags, front and rear curtain airbags, front active head restraints and a tire pressure monitoring system.The Toyota Matrix carries over with minimal changes for 2011. Heated exterior mirrors and cruise control are now standard on all models, and the Base trim gets power windows and door locks. A new Premium Package features a power sunroof and upgraded audio, including a USB port and Bluetooth wireless connectivity and audio streaming. Additionally, the front-wheel drive XRS trim is no longer offered.
